Violet of Fort Maddox is a total boss babe. Fort Maddox offers handcrafted seasonal-based floral arrangements. Fort Maddox sources their florals from local growers & forage greenery & foliage as much as possible and designs everyday arrangements, bouquets and offer floral bar services for events where guests can make floral crowns or an arrangement to take home.

What is the inspiration for your business? How did you get started?

The inspiration behind my business is being able to provide a service that puts a smile on someone’s face or it makes someone’s whole day by receiving a bouquet or arrangement. I just love flowers and believe where there are flowers there are smiling happy faces. I went into the floral business because it seemed like a fitting creative career I could do, I love florals & thought why not. I started researching how & what I needed to get started & even had a friend who at the time was running her own small wedding floristry business, so of course asked her a bunch of questions. But I truly knew I wanted to take the leap into floristry when I stumbled upon Floret Farm ‘s website & later attended one of Erin Benzakein’s life changing floral workshops in Mt. Vernon, Washington.

What are your goals for 2018?

My goals for 2018 are that I want to work on doing more floral activities through my floral bars & do workshops for community events, social gatherings & everyday celebrations. I also would like to attend some floral workshops cause you can never learn enough about flowers & business of flowers!

What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

I would say my greatest fear at the moment is “what if a client doesn’t like my designs” but then I think to myself they choose my floral design style for a reason & that I’m just being too hard on myself like every other creative usually is about their work. I remind myself to have faith in me & my designs & my passion for florals will show through.

What are your hobbies? What do you do in your non-work time?

I love to read books & magazine especially anything to do with flowers, sewing , decorating & DIY stuff. I love to refurbish, repaint furniture pieces, love to do sewing projects and definitely love to travel to new places even if its just for the weekend and check out new eating spots & cafes.

Where are you based? What areas do you serve?

I am based out of North Bend, Washington. I also serve the Seattle area & beyond . I am open to travel per request.
