Let’s get started!

How-to-do-a-Styled-Session

Establish your goal for the styled session

What do you hope to accomplish with your styled session? Networking, publication, Create quality content for advertising? This is important on many levels, especially in finding other vendors who share the same goal and can join the team!

The scope of the styled session

A styled session can be as simple as a model, and bridal gown. Or a model, bridal gown and a bouquet.  Or it can be as extravagant as a couple, full table-scape, a vintage car, a full mansion as the venue, with a complete bridal party. The possibilities are endless. In order to be organized it is important to decide on how big or small you want the session to be. Are you incorporating ten vendors or two vendors?

Create an inspiration board

A styled session is where you can be free and play with ideas! In order to express your vision to potential vendors you’ll want to create an inspiration board. I’ve included a template to get you started on your board.

Investment

This isn’t just a dollar figure, but also your time and energy. Planning a cohesive and rounded styled session takes a fair amount of time and communication. The scope of your session plays a large role in investment. As for the budget it can be as small or as large as you want but be honest and upfront with the potential vendors, so they can have clear expectations going into the session.

Choose a date

One of the biggest mistakes I see made when planning a styled session is trying to find a date that works for everyone – as busy as life is, finding a date that a whole group of people can agree on isn’t easy. Decide on a date that works for you and then find vendors to fit. The main vendor that carries the most weight in the date decision should be the venue. If the venue is available on a certain date, snatch it up.

Find your team!

Once you’ve locked in the details, you can start looking for potential vendors who may want to join your styled session! You’ll want to do your research to find vendors who will align with your goal and overall vision for the session. Be prepared to hear a few “No, thanks!”, but don’t let that bring you down. Not everyone will want to, have the means or the time to participate but don’t let that stop you!

Now that I’ve shared these tips and tricks, I want to see your styled session! Comment or email me with your inspiration board. I can’t wait to see your styled session come to life! If you have specific questions or need an elaboration on anything I’ve mentioned please comment or email me and I will happily share more information!
