In 2015 I had the opportunity to visit Yosemite National Park, and believe me when I say I was ecstatic to make it happen. Late summer or early fall I was sitting thinking about how Philip and I had plans to visit Oregon later in the year, I had booked a Wedding there and we would visit family while in town. I half jokingly suggested a road trip home, and while Philip didn’t have enough time off from work he strongly encouraged me to make the road trip happen. So, I sent Jennifer a text message and we set forth in our plans for this adventure. One of the main places we agreed on (although we agreed on nearly everything) was Yosemite. We both knew this would be a top spot to visit along our journey.
I first heard of Yosemite sometime in my childhood, I imagine. But when I remember putting it on my bucket list is when I was in EMT Basic schooling. A fellow classmate, and then friend, told me about Yosemite and how it is an awesome place to rock climb and boulder (believe it or not, I actually really enjoy rock climbing). I tried to vicariously live through his adventures, but I added it to my list of places to visit some day. I didn’t realize some day would come so soon! Six years after secretly loving Yosemite, and hardly knowing it’s beauty, I was able to experience it for myself. Although I didn’t do any climbing, I did hike to the water fall, and soaked up as much Yosemite as I could for the few hours we were there. It was an experience I will never forget. I hope to visit Yosemite again some day and explore more that it has to offer.
